he suffered from 100's of myoclonic and atonic seizures a day and then had his first grand mal which was severe. he is on depakote and keppra.Depakote didn't suppress his seizures and it caused severe behavioral side effects. The neuro mentioned Keppra but said it only works in 3/10 cases of AES -- and it comes with behavioral side effects along the lines of Depakote.Through being medicated over 3 years with different meds I was taking lamictal & keppra,in 2005 still having the bad seizures.
